I awoke this morning and I was buzzing.  Weather permitting, I’ll be checking off a box today that has been long overdue.  “The Cliff” is calling my name.  It’s a part of the mountain that has intimidated me since the first time I saw it.  As I think of leaping into the void, I can’t help but also think of how parallel it will be to the current state of my life.  Me, working without a net.  New experiences and stepping out of my comfort zone to accomplish something totally foreign to me.

The world of baseball has always been like a warm blanket to me.  It’s fed and sheltered me since I was a kid.  It’s kept me warm at night and given me peace of mind.  I hope, as I embark on a new solo journey, it will continue to be there for me.  There will be challenges and some of them will be steep, like the mountain I face today.   I have never run from a challenge and I don’t plan to start now.  As long as I can stand and as long as I can breathe, you will see me continuing my search for my ultimate challenge.

"If you aren’t growing, you’re dying.”  I’m not sure who said that, but it wasn’t me.  I just like it.
